Legionellosis is the collective name given to the pneumonia-like illness caused by  legionella bacteria. It is a potentially fatal form of pneumonia and everyone is susceptible to infection.

You should be aware that legionella bacteria can multiply in hot or cold water systems and water storage tanks? The bacteria can spread via showers and taps, especially if they have not been used for some time. A professional risk assessments will assess the risk and identify potential sources of exposure.

Under general health and safety law, as a landlord you have health and safety duties and need to take suitable precautions to prevent or control the risk of exposure to legionella.
